“Making the Future Bright” Theme for 31st Annual Christmas Fantasy

The Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation’s Christmas Fantasy 2022 will return this year for the first time in three years, bringing back all of the events.  The event will be held Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, November 11, 12, 13, and 14, at the Allamakee Fairgrounds Pavilion. The theme will be “Making the Future Bright.”

2022 Fantasy Schedule of Events

“Tingle ‘N Mingle” Happy Hour

This event is a special opportunity to meet socially with friends and co-workers.  May tables of hearty hors d’oeuvres, desserts, candies, breads and spirits will be served among the trees from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday night.  The cost is $20.00 per person in advance and $25 at the door.  Tickets include the food and two drink tickets. Tickets are available at Veterans Memorial Hospital and all local banks.  This year, this event will be catered by “Smokin’ Monkey BBQ” (Jeff Monk), Rhonda Stock and Jan Baumler of Tastefully Simple as well as many Foundation members.

Wine, Cheese and Dessert Event

Saturday evening, November 12, will host a special wine, cheese and dessert event sponsored by Eagle’s Landing Winery of Marquette, the Empty Nest Winery of Waukon and Madigan Winery of Lansing.  The event will begin at 7:00 p.m.   Reservations are required for this event as seats are limited.  Please call 568-1046 to make a reservation.  The cost for each ticket is $20 per person, which includes refreshments, meat and cheese buffet, dessert, viewing of the decorations, and entertainment.

Fantasy Luncheons

Two special Christmas Fantasy Luncheons sponsored by the Allamakee Cattlemen’s Association will be offered on Saturday, November 12, and Monday, November 14.  Please call 568-6262 to make a reservation for either of the luncheons. The cost is $20.00 per person.   Both of the Fantasy luncheons will be catered by BE Catered, Jim and Charlene Baxter.

Visits and Photos with Santa Claus

From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, children will be given a special chance to see the Fantasy, plus have a visit with Santa Claus himself!  Story telling by Sue Kiesau will add to the excitement. Katie Hennessey will be on hand for a holiday Christmas card/picture opportunity for your children with Santa Claus. These photos will be available for purchase.

General Viewing

The Christmas Fantasy 2022 event will be open to the public on Saturday, November 12, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 13, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. sponsored by Thrivent Financial, and Monday, November 14, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., offering entertainment from area choirs and artists.  Complimentary Christmas treats and cider will be available during all these public showings.

Silent Auction

Each year there are more and more unique shopping opportunities on silent auction at the Fantasy.  These are all available for purchase throughout the weekend through a silent auction with the highest bidder winning the purchase of the item when the auction ends at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening, November 14.  Until that closing time, bidders can return, free of charge to the Fantasy and raise their bid.   All silent auction items are decorated and donated to the Foundation.
