Washing your hands and washing them well is a great way to help stop the spread of disease, especially the flu. In addition to a flu shot, it is recommended good hand washing, along with eating a well-balanced diet and getting enough rest, will help stop the spread of the flu. Flu shots are still available locally and it’s not too late for anyone that hasn’t had one this winter, to get one.

| Veterans Memorial Hospital physicians and staff have announced that Kendyl Rae Wedo, daughter of Melissa and Randy Wedo of Monona, is the winner of the First Baby of the Year Contest at Veterans Memorial Hospital. Kendyl Rae was born January 3 at 8:50 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Hospital. Dr. Benjamin Nesseim was her physician. Kendyl weighed 8 pounds, 4.5 ounces and was 22 1/2 inches long when she arrived. |
