The Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation has set June 17 as the date for their 20^th annual Three Person Best-Shot Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held at the Waukon Golf and Country Club beginning with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.

The Diabetes Self-Management Education Program at Veterans Memorial Hospital will again be offering a free educational program on “Diabetes Prevention.”   This program will be held on Monday, May 20, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Hospital in the ICN Conference Room. 

Veterans Memorial Hospital recently renovated the main patient floor waiting room into a Hospitality Suite in order to better serve the patients and their friends and family members.  This room is a place where patients and their family can go to enjoy a cup of coffee and read the paper or watch TV.

It has a dining café appearance with coffee, pop, water and ice available.  The cupboards are stocked with cups, plates and supplies for snacks and beverages that may be enjoyed by all who enter.  Family members may bring in snacks specifically for their loved one to enjoy.  The snack is placed in the refrigerator that is available in the Hospitality Room.  The Hospital staff hopes this new Hospitality Suite is utilized not only as a place for visitors to wait, but for patients to sit and visit while enjoying a change in scenery.

The Veterans Memorial Hospital Housekeeping Department is available to assist individuals in the area communities with their Spring Cleaning of laundering large items. Their huge, industrial sized washers and dryers can easily launder large items safely such as bedspreads, sleeping bags, and throw rugs.
