HIM Coding & Documentation Educator
Veterans Memorial Hospital & Clinics is looking for a dedicated HIM Coding & Documentation Educator to lead high-impact training initiatives and serve as a trusted expert on coding guidelines, regulatory changes, and compliance standards. In this vital role, you'll collaborate with coders, providers, and clinical teams to ensure accurate code assignment and top-tier documentation practices across all care settings.
Bring your expertise to a role where your knowledge will shape coding quality and provide documentation system-wide. You’ll lead focused audits, deliver targeted education, mentor HIM professionals, and guide providers with tailored training that improves accuracy and supports compliance.
Education: RHIT or CCS required; RHIA and bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in training, education, or HIM leadership required minimum experience in coding, with strong understanding of both inpatient & outpatient environments.
Housekeeper
Veterans Memorial Hospital looking for a dependable and energetic full time Housekeeper (40 hours per week) to help keep our hospital and clinic environments safe and spotless for patients, visitors, and staff. In this role, you’ll be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, public areas, and clinical spaces, as well as handling laundry services for both the hospital and outside contracts. From making up beds after patient discharge to shampooing carpets and buffing floors, your work will make a real difference every day.

You’ll rotate through a variety of tasks, including disinfecting patient rooms, shampooing carpets, and managing laundry services—all while following top-tier safety and cleanliness protocols. Maintenance Worker
Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for keeping things running smoothly? We’re looking for a full-time (40 hpw) dependable and motivated Maintenance Worker to help ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of our hospital facility. In this vital role, you’ll assist in maintaining the building, equipment, and grounds—handling everything from preventative maintenance and minor repairs to groundskeeping and emergency on-call support. Your work will directly support a safe and healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You’ll work closely with a wide range of hospital departments, vendors, and service technicians, performing tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical maintenance, and even ambulance driving on rotation.
Education: A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required,

Medical Laboratory Technician
Veterans Memorial Hospital is excited to announce a full-time opening for a Laboratory Technician to join our dedicated Laboratory team on the PM/2nd shift! This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment where every test you perform makes a real difference in patient care. Our technicians rotate through a variety of specialties, including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis—while also providing essential services like phlebotomy and specimen processing.
Education: We’re looking for candidates with an associate or bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science (or equivalent) and current MLT or MLS ASCP certification.
Experience: While Blood Bank and Microbiology experience is a plus, we’re committed to providing on-site training to help you grow your skills. Paramedic
Veterans Memorial Hospital & Clinics is seeking dedicated Paramedics to provide critical pre-hospital emergency care and in-hospital support in our Emergency Department and Med-Surg units. Under the supervision of the EMS Manager and Medical Director, you will respond to 911 calls, patient transfers, and emergency situations, delivering care at your certified level of training. In addition to ambulance operations, you’ll assist with patient care under RN supervision, perform vital assessments, document care in electronic records, and contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of our emergency services.
Education: a high school diploma or GED, current Paramedic certification (Iowa or NREMT), and up-to-date BLS, EVOC, and Mandatory Reporter training. ACLS certification, with PALS and NRP preferred.
Experience: in EMS or a healthcare setting is a plus, and Critical Care Paramedic endorsement is desirable.
Physical Therapist
The Physical Therapist will be performing outpatient and home health physical therapy services. They will assess, treat, and monitor patients; perform all necessary paperwork and reports, plan and develop new programs; maintain communication with patient, patient’s family and physicians and contract site staff. This is a full-time position.
Education Requirements: Bachelors (B.A., B.S.), master’s degree (M.A., M.S.) or Doctorate (DPT) in Physical Therapy Experience.
Additional Requirements: Physical Therapy board certification and licensure according to state regulations. Supervisor’s license as required by the state Valid Driver’s license.
Radiologic Technologist
We are seeking a full time skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our team and provide essential diagnostic imaging services. In this role, you will acquire radiographs using various modalities, ensuring proper patient positioning and technique to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other medical staff to support patient diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining radiology equipment, following safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure, and maintaining accurate imaging records. This position involves performing procedures such as mammography, CT, MRI, bone densitometry, and fluoroscopy, as well as operating portable radiology equipment in various clinical settings.
Education: Associate's degree in Radiology or an equivalent, be registered or registry-eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), and hold a valid State of Iowa Permit to Practice.
Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred, along with a solid understanding of anatomy, radiation protection, and medical imaging equipment. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication and customer service skills, and a commitment to patient safety and confidentiality are essential.
Reimbursement Analyst
Veterans Memorial Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Reimbursement Analyst to help ensure we receive accurate payment for the care we deliver. In this critical role, you’ll manage our Chargemaster, analyze third-party reimbursements, and monitor compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care contracts. Your expertise will drive revenue optimization and financial accuracy, supporting both our patients and our mission.
Education: An associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, Healthcare Administration, or RHIT is required, along with a commitment to certification within the first year. Join us and play a vital part in keeping our hospital financially strong and compliant.
Experience: 2–3 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement or revenue cycle—preferably in a critical access hospital—who understands CPT, HCPCS, and revenue codes. Proficiency in Excel, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset are essential
