Foundation's 32nd Annual Golf Tournament Results

The 32nd annual Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation Golf Tournament was held on Monday, June 16, at the Waukon Golf and Country Club. A full tournament of 33 teams of three participated, each enjoying 18 holes of golf plus lunch and dinner prepared by Rich Schulte, Kris Cote’, and the Foundation Directors.
The Foundation gives credit for the success of this tournament to the many local businesses that provide great prizes so everyone participating wins. Plus many businesses serving this area contribute as hole sponsors to the tournament making it an enjoyable, community-wide event.

Special hole-in-one contests were sponsored by Farm Bureau Agents Wade Bucknell and Andy Moore, and also by Waukon Implement. Volunteers Marilyn Anderson and Maury Mooney were witnesses for these contests. The Harley Davidson motorcycle and John Deere lawn mower went unclaimed again this year.
Other special hole contests and winners included the following: Closest to Pin (Hole #9) was Jeremy Hogan; Longest Putt (Hole #3) was Shawn Schulte; Closest to the Pin in 2 (Hole #4) was Devin Johnson; and Longest Putt (Hole #7) was Logan Houg.
Many other businesses and individuals pitched in to help with the food expenses and preparation, including Quillin’s Food Ranch, Fareway, Casey’s, Kwik Star, Rich Schulte, Kris Cote’ and the entire Foundation Board.
The 33 teams participating in the tournament consisted of three people each who played a best shot tournament. The winner of the Veterans Memorial Hospital Health Care Foundation’s 32nd Annual Golf Tournament with a score of 58 was the Stegen Brothers including Dylan, Vaughn and Connor Stegen.
The Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation Board, including Rose Beardmore, Sue Blagsvedt, Vicki Bloxham, Kris Cote’, Chris Engstrom-Fosaaen, Patty Goltz, Kevin Hanson, Judy Herman, Sue Kratz, Ardie Kuhse, Craig Lensing, Reid Mahoney, Becky Mitchell, Larry Schellhammer, Barb Shull, Sue Stamper, Jeremy Strub, Kim Sylvester and Matt Teslow, sponsor this annual golf tournament at the Waukon Golf and Country Club in June of each year.
