Postville Clinic Campaign Continues-Great Need Evident With Growing Demand and Providers

Nearly two months ago, the Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation sent out a mailing to everyone in the hospital’s service area, announcing the campaign to raise funds for a new Postville Medical Clinic with more room for patients and new providers.   The current Postville Medical Clinic is located at 124 W. Greene Street. The new location is right next door, to the west, in the former Upper Explorerland Building.  The new clinic will have an additional three exam rooms for a total of five, plus a new procedure room and lab area.  In addition, handicap accessible bathrooms will be available which are greatly missed in the current site.  There will also be a new behavioral health clinic area for private consultations in a more comfortable, confidential atmosphere.

“The VMH Clinic has been a great asset to the community of Postville.   In the last 3 years I watched us grow to meet the needs and well-being of the community and our patients.  The addition of a new clinic is greatly needed as we expand our patient care daily,” states Teresa Berg, Clinic Receptionist.  “It will be great to have the extra rooms and space to help meet our patient growth and needs.   Hopefully with the expansion, we will be able to offer more options of care and to help save travel and expense for our patients in traveling to other facilities.  I am excited to see our clinic grow and see our patients get good quality medical care that they deserve.  Go Pirates!” 

            The hospital has funding for $480,000 of this total $779,000 project.  Over $100,000 has been raised by the Foundation with a goal of a total of $200,000.

Additional donations and grants are still needed for the remaining balance of the new Postville Medical Clinic project.  Gifts can be made out to:  Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation and mailed to 40 First St. SE, Waukon, IA  52172.
