Diabetes Education

Our Diabetes Education Program is a nationally recognized education program by the AADE (American Association of Diabetes Educators) and committed to providing those with Pre-Diabetes, Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational Diabetes education in the latest technology, medications, and self-management skills needed to manage the disease. 

Our Diabetes Educator, Angie Mettille, is a Certified Diabetes Educator. She consults with anyone newly diagnosed h diabetes to establish the best managements plan. She continues to meet with anyone with diabetes, one-on-one to help them manage the disease with medication management, maintaining a health A1c and helping them feel the best they can.

She also offers outpatient Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) beneficial for medication adjustment and management. Education in Diabetes Prevention is available upon request.

Diabetes Support Group

Angie facilitates a Diabetes Support Group the 3rd Thursday per month from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Hospital.  Helpful diabetes management topics and guest speakers are offered each month as well as new healthy, low carb recipes and helpful management advice.  The support group is free of charge to any with diabetes or who has a family member with diabetes.
