All Seniors Invited to Wellness Chat & Bingo at Lansing Library-Hosted by Senior Life Solutions
The new Senior Life Solutions department at Veterans Memorial Hospital will be hosting a Wellness Chat and Bingo on Tuesday, May 12th, in Lansing at the Meehan Memorial Library from 1:30-3:30 pm. Any seniors, age 65 and over, are invited to attend and enjoy playing bingo while sharing some social time together. Prizes will also be awarded.
This bingo opportunity is made possible by Senior Life Solutions which is a new department of Veterans Memorial Hospital.
Kayla Baxter, Social Worker and Senior Life Solutions therapist is the coordinator of this event. She states, “Our new Senior Life Solutions program is off to a great start! "Patients have enjoyed learning about the positivity that laughter, healthy eating and music brings to our lives. Taking care of our mental health through socializing is important to everyone, especially seniors, so that is why we are hosting these ‘Wellness Chat and Bingo’ events around Allamakee County to give our seniors an opportunity to socialize and care for their mental health. We look forward to holding our first event in Lansing on May 12!”
Senior Life Solutions provide outpatient services designed to meet the unique needs of individuals age 65 and over who may be experiencing low mood, sadness, grief, excessive worry or anxiety related to life changes often associated with aging. They provide group and individual therapy, medication management and after-care planning when needed.
