Infusion Activity Bags Donated by St. John’s Lutheran Church Sunday School Youth

The St. John’s Lutheran Church Sunday School youth recently compiled and donated a number of Infusion Bags to the Infusion and Treatment Center at Veterans Memorial Hospital. The bags are full of activities to help patients pass the time when they are in the Infusion Clinic, receiving their treatments.
The Veterans Memorial Hospital Infusion and Treatment Center offers a wide variety of outpatient services, close to home. Dressing changes, blood transfusions, medications, and much more are offered locally by skilled registered nurses. They are now treating more and more patients with rheumatoid arthritis, Chrones disease, and most any type of autoimmune disease.
The Infusion and Treatment Center also helps with chemotherapy symptom management, helping to keep patients feeling as good and as healthy as possible while they undergo their chemotherapy treatments at another facility.
Other popular infusion services like IV antibiotic therapy, anti-inflammatory and steroid therapy, blood transfusions, iron therapy, hydration and electrolyte replacement, medication injections, port care PICC line care, etc., are all administered by skilled registered nurses.
The goal of the hospital’s Infusion and Treatment Center is to offer a wide variety of services, saving patients and their family members time and energy from driving out of town for these same services. Patients are encouraged to ask their providers to see if they can receive their needed treatment closer to home, at Veterans Memorial Hospital.
Now, thanks to this generous donation, all of the patients at the Infusion and Treatment Center will enjoy more activities while receiving their treatment.
