Postville Clinic Project Hits Goal Thanks to Community Support!

In a powerful show of what a community can accomplish together, generous donors from across the region have helped the Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation reach its $200,000 fundraising goal for the Postville Clinic upgrade and expansion project—helping secure local healthcare services for years to come.
The campaign, launched in August of 2025 with a presentation to the Postville City Council, emphasized VMH’s long-term commitment to the Postville community and its mission to strengthen access to care. In rural areas, access to healthcare is not just a convenience—it is a necessity. The funds raised will help upgrade and expand the building VMH purchased which is adjacent to the current clinic. Work on the building began a few weeks ago with completion expected in September. The expanded facility will increase capacity from two to five exam rooms and include a new procedure room, lab area and additional office space. A dedicated behavioral health area will also provide a more private and comfortable setting for consultations.
Donations of all sizes played a vital role in reaching the goal, demonstrating the impact of collective giving. The achievement reflects the community’s compassion and commitment to sustaining local healthcare.
The Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation also recognized the many donors who contributed in honor or memory of loved ones, turning their gifts into meaningful tributes that celebrate lives and legacies.
“These contributions carry special significance, reflecting generosity, gratitude and remembrance. Together, this support not only helped meet the fundraising goal but also reinforced the mission of sustaining and enhancing healthcare services for future generations,” explains Beth Shafer, Growth and Development Coordinator. “While the $200,000 goal has been achieved, the need for support does not end here. Additional contributions will continue to be welcomed and directed toward ongoing equipment needs, information technology (IT), signage and further enhancements for the Postville Clinic.”
The Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation extends its sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to this effort. Because of this collective generosity, the Postville Clinic project will move forward—ensuring quality, compassionate care remains available to the community for years to come.
