Postville Medical Clinic Provider Choices Expand with More Providers Per Day for Greater Coverage
The number of providers now serving the Postville Medical Clinic, following the retirement of Dr. Thomas McMullan, has grown with offering a greater variety of choices and availability for patients.
Hannah (Gesing) Kelly, Nurse Practitioner, recently was added to the providers serving the Postville Clinic. She joins Nurse Practitioners Alex Berns, Minji Ranson, and Katy Maker, who is also a nurse midwife, in serving the growing number of patients utilizing this Clinic.
In just one month, in early January, another provider will be added to the line-up. Mason (Hermeier) Kerian, Nurse Practitioner, will also begin serving the Postville area patients. With this addition, there will be two providers in the Postville Clinic location every Monday and Friday, with one provider Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The schedule will be: Mondays-Kelly and Berns, Tuesdays-Kelly; Wednesdays-Ransom; Thursdays-Kerian and Fridays-Kerian and Maker. Walk-in’s will also begin to be accepted again in January.
Next summer, a family practice physician, Dr. Akinboboye, will also join this practice for an even greater level of accessibility and diversity of provider choices. All of these providers are also caring for patients in the Veterans Memorial Hospital Waukon Clinic as well.
In addition to these family practice providers, Veterans Memorial Hospital Behavioral Health providers have also expanded. There are now three full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners on staff. Angie Taylor, PMHNP, and Janet Hunter, PMHNP, have joined Tara Fink, PMHNP, in meeting the demand for local mental health care. All three providers see patients in the Waukon Clinic, with both Angie and Tara traveling to Postville, making Behavioral Health Care available every week in Postville.
This stronger, more accessible behavioral health team works with anyone of any age. Patients can self-refer themselves for these services.
